We are very happy to announce Cristian Mauricio in the Artist Team 2024. He will even be doing one of the pre-congress topics this year, a part from teaching regular classes during the event. Cristian has become a very popular instructor at the SalsaNor Rued Congress due to his amazing teaching method. He has a huge heart and passion for the Cuban dance and music culture, and has vast knowledge about the dance history in Cuba. He has been to the congress several times, both as artist, as World Championship contestant and as congress participant. He has even become World Rueda Champion twice, in 2016 and last year in 2022, with his dance group Tim Manana.
After 2016, he was studying at the Higher Institute of Art of Havana, Cuba (ISA), and is professionally dedicated to Casino, Mambo, Cha cha cha, Son Cubano, Cubatón and bachata.
In Havana, besides studying folkloric dances, he has performed in the video clip “De cuba pal mundo “ by Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, has been interviewed by Cuban television, invited as a dancer from Abakuá with the Timbalaye Rumba Group at the Cuba Disco 2018 Gala, at the National Theater of Havana and special guest at Casa de Lali.
He is part of the group of the National Septet of Ignacio Piñeiro as a principal dancer, dancing in his 90th Anniversary celebrated in the Teatro América, and in the Gala Cuba Disco 2018 in which he won the Honorific Award to Ignacio Piñeiro along with the whole group, in the National Theater of Havana.
