Have you worked on new rueda content and want to share it at the Rueda Congress?
Great! We are planning on doing an exchange session at the Rueda Congress in Tromsø, where some participants share rueda content they have been working on. We are aiming for an open session placed in the workshop schedule, level 3-4, up to 2 hours.
Yes! How do I contribute?
To contribute with content, press the button below, fill out and submit the form there by the end of February 2026. If we get sufficient response, we will select content that we think is best suited for this specific session.
We are looking for small groups of participants with content they are interested in sharing, preferably within the frame of up to 30 minutes.
What kind of rueda content are we talking about?
An exchange topic can be a move, a structure, a piece of technique, a breakdown of something simple that you may do differently than others. It should be something you have tried out in a rueda, at least locally. And now you want to show it to others, let them try it, and give some feedback. Possibly suggestions for further development.
You may have heard about the RuedX events. AI explains: “The first RuedX event (Rueda Exchange) was conceptualized in 2016 by Ethan Wagner, with the initial gatherings happening in New York and Montreal in May 2016, bringing together Rueda de Casino dancers to share ideas and improve their skills.”
At the Rueda Congress we are aiming for a taste of this concept, within a limited timeframe. And we are very happy to have the same Ethan Wagner to be moderating the session!
Is this the same as a rueda lab?
No it’s not. We will have a rueda lab at the Rued Congress in Tromsø in addition.
A rueda lab is a place for exploring new ideas that may or may not work out in a rueda. In a lab, you usually try out various adjustments or angles, and sometimes you try to find a solution to a “problem”.
Can I show my favorite rueda figures?
Rueda figures or content that you learned in class is not what we are looking for here.
Unless you have modified it quite a bit, you have already tried out your adjustments, and you think that the result is ready for sharing with others.
