We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of SalsaNor this year, and we want to celebrate it with all of you during the Rueda Congress! Our birthday gift to share with you, is a live salsa concert with one of the most prestigious, cuban salsa bands in Europe at the moment, Rene Alvarez y su Cuban combination!
Salsa orchestra Rene Alvarez y su Cuban combination plays melodic salsa sprinkled with a wide range of other Cuban rhythms, like danzón, son, changui and songo, giving you really juicy timba with elements of funk and RnB.
The orchestra was founded in London in 2009 by Cuban Rene Alvarez Portuondo, who plays trombone, piano, sings and composes. He has his professional music education from the Music Conservatory of Santiago de Cuba. Before Alvarez moved from Cuba to the UK he was a vocalist in the top orchestra Sur Caribe.
During the last 10 years, the orchestra has received a large fan base across Europe, and has received great reviews for their two albums.
The concert is of course included in the Rueda Congress Pass!
