Who are the instructors and DJs for the event?
The SalsaNor Rueda Congress features an impressive lineup of instructors, performers, and DJs each year – truly some of the best in the Cuban salsa community. These include:

  • Renowned Rueda de Casino instructors from around the world – a mix of Cuban instructors and other international rueda experts. Many are legendary figures who have taught and developed Rueda for years, alongside some fresh new talents making their congress debut. You’ll likely see names of teachers from Cuba, Europe, the U.S., etc.
  • Top DJs specializing in Cuban music – at least 3–4 DJs are usually on rotation. They are there to ensure every party has fantastic music, from classic son and salsa Cubana to the latest timba hits.
  • Performers: Some instructors might perform dance shows during the gala or parties. Additionally, there may be show teams or special guest performances (the details can vary year to year). While the congress isn’t primarily a performance event, you can expect at least a couple of inspiring shows – often the teachers themselves will do a showcase number on the gala night.

The full lineup is usually revealed gradiually a few months in advance. SalsaNor publishes the list on their website’s Artists page and via news announcements. They often highlight that it’s a blend of “international talent and legendary Rueda instructors” along with top-notch DJs. This combination ensures that you’re learning from highly qualified instructors during the day and dancing to expertly curated music at night.

If you’re curious about specific names, check the official site’s Artists section for your year. For networking or fan purposes, know that these artists are very approachable – you’ll see them social dancing at the parties too. It’s not unusual to find yourself dancing in a rueda called by one of the famous instructors or grooving to a set by a prominent DJ. The instructors also come from diverse backgrounds, so you’ll get a taste of different styles and teaching approaches, making the learning experience really rich.

(Pro tip: Follow the congress on Facebook/Instagram where they often introduce the instructors one by one leading up to the event. By the time the congress starts, you’ll know who’s who and can be excited to meet them!)
