Most of the parties are casual, but the Saturday Gala Night typically has a theme or suggested dress code. Gala night is your chance to dress to impress: think cocktail dresses, nice shirts, maybe even traditional touches if it fits the theme. The organizers usually announce the theme well in advance.

For the other parties:

  • Opening Party (Thu): No specific dress code – come as you are (maybe wear your congress t-shirt if you get one, or any salsa-themed attire). It’s a travel day for many, so casual is fine.
  • Friday Cuban Party: Not a strict dress code, but you could throw on something with Cuban flair (perhaps a Cuban flag color combo or a fun salsa shirt) if you want. Mostly people just wear comfortable dance clothes.
  • Sunday Farewell: Also no set theme. Some people dress down for comfort after an intense weekend; others might dress up a bit one last time. It’s up to you.

In any case, wear comfortable dance shoes and clothing you can move in for all parties. And if you forget about the theme – don’t panic. They won’t turn anyone away for not wearing “the theme of the night” on gala night, for example. Themes are there to enhance the fun. If you can participate, great – it makes for fantastic photos and ambiance – but the priority is to come and dance. So bring at least one nice outfit for the gala, and enjoy the creativity of each year’s theme!
