No, you do not need to bring a partner. One of the great things about a Rueda congress is that all dancing is social and done in groups. In workshops, the Rueda formation involves constantly changing partners in the circle, so everyone will dance with everyone. You can register solo and will be grouped with others of your level during classes. The organizers also balance the number of leaders and followers in each level, so ideally you’ll always have a partner in rotations. If you happen to come with a partner or team, you’ll still be rotating and mixing with others – that’s part of the fun of Rueda.

Even for any non-Rueda portions (say an occasional partner work demo), partners are usually rotated or found on the spot. So don’t worry if you’re coming alone – most people do, and you’ll make plenty of dance friends. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to dance with everyone!

On some occations sign-up at as single lead or follow might be closed, but partner sign-up may still be open. In these cases you might benefit from having a sign-up partner to purchase a pass. Just remember to stick to your level and role.
