Yes, if you are unable to join the full congress (or if Full Passes are sold out), you can still attend the parties by purchasing a Party Pass or individual party tickets, depending on availability. These party-only tickets are a great option for local dancers or those who only wanted to enjoy the social dancing.
Here are some important notes about attending just the parties:
- Party Passes, when offered, might be limited in number to ensure the venue isn’t overcrowded. It’s wise to check the website or contact the organizers to see if a Party Pass will be sold in a given year.
- If you buy a Party Pass, you get a wristband (or some credential) that lets you into all the evening events, but does not include workshops or meals. It’s basically for dancing only.
- All the parties are held at the congress venue (hotel), except the Friday daytime social which is a public event. Party Pass covers the four main nighttime parties.
- If you have friends with Full Passes, you’ll meet them at the parties. The good news is you won’t miss the legendary Rueda circles and salsa vibes each night – everything social is “of course included in the full pass” but you can partake via the party-only option as well.
Keep in mind, the focus of the congress is the combination of workshops and parties, so a Full Pass is the full experience. However, the parties alone are still highly worth it – you’ll experience amazing music, dancing with international salseros, and the electric atmosphere of a Rueda Congress at night. If you do just attend the parties, be sure to bring ID and cash/card for any at-the-door tickets and come early to secure entry (just in case there’s a capacity limit). And get ready for some wild ruedas and salsa till late night!
