Are any meals provided, and what about dietary options?
Yes – one great perk of the Full Pass is that certain meals are included in the packageruedacongress.com. Specifically:
- Lunch Buffet on Saturday and Sunday: Not included every year, check the specific info for the current event.
- Gala Dinner on Saturday night: This is a full 3-course dinner served on Saturday evening before the big gala party. Seating typically starts around 19:30. It’s a seated, festive dinner where everyone dresses up. The cost of this dinner is included in your pass, and it’s a highlight social moment as well. If you have any specific dietary requirements (allergies, etc.), it’s a good idea to inform the organizers on sign up or hotel ahead of time so they can accommodate you during the gala dinner. Generally, they do have vegetarian options for the main course if needed, but making a note in advance is always wise.
Other meals are on your own:
- Breakfasts: If you stay at the hotel, breakfast may be included with your room. If not, you can purchase breakfast at your accommodation or find a café. Many dancers prioritize sleeping in over breakfast after late nights, but coffee is always available!
- Thursday and Friday (non-included dinners): On Thursday and Friday, dinner is not included in the pass. Check the options on your hotel. Alternatively, you can explore restaurants locally or order take-away.
- On Thursday, there usally is organized group dinner for Pre-Congress participants (optional, via sign-up link emailed to those people registered for the pre-congress). If you didn’t do Pre-Congress, you could still dine on your own.
- On Friday, since many will have had lunch late during the city tour, you might just snack and then party. But if you want a proper dinner, you can use the hotel buffet or local eateries.
- Snacks and Other Options: The hotel/venue is aware that dancers need fuel. They plan for lighter fare on Thursday/Friday midday. Snacks might be available for purchase in the reception area (sandwiches, etc.). Having a water bottle is a good idea; you can refill from your room or at water stations. Hydration is key when dancing all day!
Dietary needs are taken into account: vegetarian and vegan options are explicitly provided in the buffets. If you have a more specific requirement (gluten-free, nut allergy, etc.), it’s best to notify the organizers ahead of time or upon check-in so they can coordinate with the kitchen. The hotel catering has been quite accommodating in past events when informed.
Lastly, for drinks: Water is generally available (you might get water carafes in workshops or you can ask the hotel). At parties, there will be a bar for drinks (not included in the pass) – you can buy sodas, cocktails, etc. The Friday city tour will sometimes be ended at a cafe where people could grab coffee/beer (pay on your own). So budget a bit for beverages.
