Improvising with style in rueda – Victor Gonzalez / ALL LEVELS

Have a fun and ‘Cubanized’ pre-congress session with Victor Go9nzalez. He will let you in on how to improvise when you dance the rueda, give you some very useful input on rueda styling, and show you the Cuban way of how to lead your into the playful energy and flow that is typical for a good Cuban Rueda de casino.

Rueda choreo – Luis Duarte / INTERMEDIATE

Luis has prepared a supercool and just a bit challenging rueda choreo, that he will teach bit by bit and with a lot of fun practise during this session. The rueda choreo will be presented together with Luis in one of the parties (no obligation to participate in the presentation in order to join this more-congress topic).

In order to attend this session, you should be familiar with the most common rueda calls, and also have had some experience with rueda structures like llanta, cruzado and contrario.

Rueda de casino with active following and rueda contrario – Bernt Rygg / ADVANCED

In this session you will be dancing rueda de casino, where followers are more active than in traditional rueda de casino, including being the active part when changing partners. This will also form the basis for dancing rueda contrario, where both leaders and followers will be changing partners in opposite directions.

To attend this session, leaders and followers must be experienced dancers, and must be very confident in knowing in which direction to move in a rueda. You should also have experience with rueda structures, and it is helpful if you know how to dance rueda contrario. Followers also need to be used to stepping forward and not doing backsteps in relevant figures, like adentro y afuera, paseos, and the likes.
