Cuban dancer Mario Acea turned out to be the favorite Cuban instructor in Graz, and of course he has to continue with us all the way from the Canary Islands, where he lives, to Tromsø. Mario was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and trained as a professional dancer in Cuba. SalsaNor met him for the first time when he was the main dancer and choreographer for El Ballet Folklórico de Trinidad (the folkloric ballet company of Trinidad) back in 2012.
The next year we invited him to work with SalsaNor for our Dance Travel groups in Havana, and then a year after he moved to Norway, where he was one of the main teachers for SalsaNor in Stavanger for several years, also teaching at the Rueda Congress when in Norway.

Now he is living in Gran Canaria, doing a great job building a new community of rueda dancers there. Make sure to attend some of his classes during the congress, always well prepared and with a great eye for the participants and can guide them in the right direction. Attend at least one of Marios classes, have a lot of fun and enjoy the energy and good spirit the way Mario creates it.
