You all met Mario Acea last year in Madrid. And he was highly appreciated by the participants, both for his fun and energetic rueda classes, and for being such a great social dancer at the parties. We simply cannot do without him in Athens!
Mario was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and trained as a professional dancer in Cuba. SalsaNor met hin for the first time when he was the main dancer and choreographer for El Ballet Folklorico de Trinidad (the folkloric ballet company of Trinidad) back in 2012.
The next year we invited him to work with us in Havana, and then a year after he moved to Norway, where he was one of the main teachers for SalsaNor in Stavanger for several years, also teaching at the Rueda Congress.
Now he is living in Gran Canaria, doing a great job building a new community of rueda dancers there. Make sure to attend some of his classes during the Rueda Congress!
