WHAT a team we have in stor for you this year! Bursting with pride to introduce to you, the Master of traditional Cuban dances with the big M, Mr. Alberto Valdes himself, together with the amazingly skilled teacher and partner, Andria Panagi.
Alberto was already a well known dancer in several of the renowned dance companies in Cuba, before moving to Europe some 20 years ago.
He is known for his elegant style, vast knowledge of Cuban dances and his great spirit.
He is also probably the very first Cuban dancer to be promoting rueda de casino in Europe. Additionally, he is even the founder of one of the most challenging and entertaining rueda structures, namely the Rueda Llanta, that he of course will share with you, on 2 different levels, during the congress.
His dance and life-partner, Andria, has been studying and working with Cuban dance culture for more than 2 decades, first in the in Czech Republic and later together with Alberto in Cyprus. It is difficult to find another European person with more knowledge about Cuban dance genders and Cuban dance culture in general than Andria.
This is their second time at the Rueda Congress, the 1st being 2015 in Roskilde, Denmark, where they also were judges at the first Rueda de Casino World Championship that the SalsaNor Rueda Congress was hosting. We are super excited to have them on the team in Athens, and can´t wait to be learning from them during the event.
