Adriana Cid was born in Cuba, where she lived until she was fifteen years old. There she began to dance, as most Cubans do, in the streets of her hometown, Havana. Later she continued her training in Tenerife and Madrid where she deepened her knowledge of online salsa (social and stage), salsa on two, lady styling and bachata.
She formed a dance couple with Juan Soto with whom she performed in numerous congresses, cities and salsa clubs in Spain, and later with Michael Espinoza. In recent years she has given classes at events such as “The Cuban Social Meeting”, “Madrid baila casino”, “Premium Dance Festival” and soon in her at “RLD Summer”; she along with professors such as Ronald Lozada, Ramsés Sariol and Emilito Herrera.
She has worked as a Latin dance teacher since she was 19 years old (2004). She is currently dedicated exclusively to teaching casino in the most traditional version of it, teaching classes of all levels. Together with Ronald Lozada and his more advanced students, she forms the amateur dance company “Calle Son”, where they focus on exploring all the possibilities of the rueda de casino.
“My purpose is to facilitate your learning so that you can enjoy yourself on the dance floor, for this I try to adapt to your rhythm and abilities, making the technique something that facilitates your performance, and not hinders it. In class I like to work on body expression so that you can move the different parts of your body independently and gracefully. I think that technique is important to learn to dance, but above all to enjoy learning, and for this the fundamental thing is to have a good group climate where students interact and share.“
