Yorge Armando (Cu/De)

Yorge comes from Havana and was a newcomer at the SalsaNor Rueda Congress 2017, having recently arrived to Europe from Cuba. With his explosive dance energy and wonderful cuban flavour, from the traditional son to the trembling reggaeton, he turned out to be one of the favourite  artists at the congress last year. Well done Yorge!!  And therefore one of the very first artists to be presented for this years mind-blowing event in Malaga.

Before moving to Germany in 2016, Yorge was Karelia Despaignes dance partner in her dance company, and also main teacher for the dance school Viadanza in Havana. Today he  is teaching full time at the Kubáname dance academy in Dresden, where he is building a considerable group of Rueda de Casino dancers.

Yorge is an up-and-coming Cuban star in Europe!! We are very happy to present him to the Rueda de Casino dance audience both as one of 5 judges at the World Championship and as dance instructor during the Salsanor Rueda Congress.

Moe Flex (UK)

He’s back! Moe Flex is one of the most inspiring and entertaining artists on the International Latin dance scene today! His great enthusiasm for dance is impossible to ignore, and with a personal touch Moe ensures every workshop is an experience of life, learning and laughing.

This year, a part from giving some great workshops during the SalsaNor Rueda Congress, Moe will be hosting the WADF Rueda de Casino World Championship as well as the Congress.

Bernt Rygg (No)

Bernt is the closest you get to the SalsaNor Rueda Congress in persona. He has been involved in the organizing of the congress since 2002 and has been teaching at the congress since 2005, always creating popular and innovative Rueda workshops.

He is usually teaching Rueda with specific themes and is committed to work with the various Rueda structures. He is also involved in inventing new ways of using Rueda in social settings, like the Rueda Combo (mixing different structures at the same time) and Ábaco.

Bernt is a key person in the development of tutorial Rueda de Casino videos distributed through the Youtube channel Ruedastandard from 2008 until now, presentation of background information about the dance  and creator of new ways of exploring Rueda de Casino.

Esteban Isnardi (Uruguay/Switzerland)

Esteban is one of the most important communicators of Cuban culture in the world the last couple of decades, having taught Cuban dances in 50 countries and on all 5 continents, author of several books, writing poetry and doing artistic drawings, all dedicated to the Cuban culture!

He is retiring in 2018 and we are proud to present him at the SalsaNor Rueda Congress, primarily representing WADF as Scrutineer for the WADF Rueda de Casino World Championship, but also to give one of his favorite workshops during the event.

Esteban has grown up in Uruguay dancing Candombe in his district. This brought him naturally to the Casino and Salsa world, creating his own school 20 years ago in Switzerland.  This will be the 4th time we happily present Esteban Isnardi at the SalsaNor Rueda Congress!

Pablo Miranda (Chile/Norway)

Pablo is a very experienced dancer, and an excellent Salsa and Rueda instructor. He is a SalsaNor Rueda Congress veteran, receiving among the highest ratings on our evaluation. Pablo dances Casino (Cuban salsa) and Cross Body.

Erodys Castillo & Tenna Quist (Cuba/Denmark)

Erodys is a brilliant dancer from Havana, Cuba, living in Denmark for the last 10 years.  He runs the dance school BailaSiempre in the danish town Horsens together with his partner Tenna.  They have also established one of Denmarks best cuban festivals, the Baila Siempre Salsa Weekend 1st weekend of June.

This lovely couple are extremely popular dance teachers both in Denmark and internationally, having great patience, sense of humor and lots of experience to share with you. They have been part of the SalsaNor Rueda Congress for at least half of the 16 editions, as main instructors and also as co-organizers both in Aarhus in 2012 and in Roskilde 2015.  We are very happy to have them on the team for the Rueda Congress in Malaga this year!

Ethan Wagner (USA)

Ethan Wagner brings the funk
His discipline is like a monk
He’s New York born and New York raised
His moves leave onlookers amazed
In teaching as in innovation
He’s traveled across every nation

They’re tough! But make a great foundation

Allí namá!!! The Rueda Congress is proud to present Ethan Wagner in the artist team 2018.

Sassan Ito (Germany)

Sassan har been teaching Salsa and Rueda in Berlin for over 10 years, where he is also running two established Rueda groups.  Over the last years he has also started teaching at international festivals.
Sassan started dancing 30 years ago, with ballroom dancing. Today he is focusing on development of Rueda de casino, and has contributed to some of the new Rueda structures, like Rueda Torno and Rueda Mixta. Sassan is an exceptional Rueda caller (cantante), and with humour and great didactic skills he manages to teach complex structures in a smooth way. This is the second year that Sassan is teaching at the SalsaNor Rueda Congress.

Yuliet Estrada Linares (Cuba / Norway)

We are proud to present Yuliet Estrada back in the Rueda Congress Artist Team. Although she lives in Oslo, Norway, we hardly ever see her there anymore, as she has established herself as an International artist in the world of cuban dance.  About time that the rest of the world discovered this talent!  Her teaching, her animations and her fantastic energy is incomparable, and we are grateful having had this marvelous dancer on board with SalsaNor since 2010/2011. And very happy to have her back for another Rueda Congress, in Malaga. Yuliet grew up in Havana, where she used to dance in the Conjunto Folclórico de la Universidad de La Habana. She has lived in Norway since 2008.

Jaroslav Hluch (Slovakia)

For the international Rueda community, Jaro is already an important figure, having taught Rueda and also organized some of the most famous Rueda flash mobs in Europe for several years, you may have a look here 🙂

He lives in Slovakia, where he travels regularly to different cities spreading knowledge and joy of Rueda, mainly for the dance school he is connected to, Salsa by Norika.
This is not at all his first time giving workshops in the SalsaNor Rueda Congress, and we are very happy to have him in the team for Malaga.

Arturo Rojas (Peru/Sweden)

Newcomer artist Arturo Rojas, born and raised in Peru, has more than 20 years experience as dance teacher,  choreographer and active dancer. He is national Rueda de Casino champion of Peru in 2010 and 2011.

He lived 6 years in Los Angeles where he, together with other cuban dancers, developed  his particular style and teaching methods.
Love brought him to Stockholm, Sweden in 2015, and he has rapidly created himself a great name and reputation in all of Sweden, as an expert of Rueda de Casino and other popular dances from Cuba.

In 2016 he created his dance group Arturo Rojas y Grupo Agua, which came 3rd in the Wadf Rueda de Casino World Championship in Trondheim in 2016.
He has travelled all over America and several countries in Europe teaching Rueda workshops, and above all learning more about the beautiful cuban culture and dance.

Franklin Vargas Monasterios (Venezuela/Spain)

Franklin Vargas has been part of the SalsaNor Rueda Congress twice before, and he is also taking part in the local Spanish organizing committee. He has been working with dance, Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba and even Zumba, for very many years, in Venezuela and  several countries in Europe. The last 10 years he has lived both in Spain and in Norway, teaching dance to children, teenagers and adults with lots of energy.
Franklin also has another profession, and passion, he is a very talented barber and hairdresser.
A part from organizing the event, Franklin will be dj´ing and teaching some of the non-rueda classes.

Yanek Revilla (Cuba)

This dancer and choreographer hardly needs an introduction! Yanek is no less than one of the most influential personalities for Rueda de Casino in the world today. He lives in Santiago de Cuba in Cuba, and is director of the highly renowned dance company Salseros DKY. Yanek became famous throughout all of Cuba and outside of Cuba after he participated with his creative dancing and impressive footwork, and won the competition, in the television show Para Bailar Casino in Cuba some 12-13 years ago.

The last 10 years Yanek have been touring the world teaching cuban dance and above all Rueda de Casino. In 2011 he was a headliner artist at the SalsaNor Rueda Congress, and the same year he and his dance company in Santiago de Cuba was the teachers for the group during our SalsaNor to Cuba-trip.

Yanek has great choreographic skills, he is an inspiring teacher and dancer, and we are very proud to present Yanek as judge of the 3rd WADF Rueda de Casino World Championship. Yanek will also be teaching Rueda de Casino during the SalsaNor Rueda Congress, of course he will!!

Christian Coelho (Brazil)

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Christian started his yoga experience in 2008. Since then he has traveled the globe exploring many aspects of yoga. A lover of Cuban Salsa & Rueda de Casino, he is very excited to be back with SalsaNor, not only to be on the dancefloor, but also to be leading yoga classes with all the dancers in between the amazing workshops. Christian is currently based in Rio, where he opened his studio and is the director of Forrest Yoga Brasil. For more information, visit:

Reynaldo Salazar Guillen (Cuba / Germany)

Reynaldo is from Santiago de Cuba, and started to dance as an 8-year-old. He is educated at EIA and ISA, and has been working as director of choreography with the group ALL STARS Santiago de Cuba (video – Reynaldo in white), which has won several national competitions. And in 2012 his Rueda team in Salsafusion Company won the Dance Cup in Stuttgart, Germany. Reynaldo was a Rueda Congress artist for the first time in 2012 in Denmark, then 2013 in Southampton and we are thrilled to have him back this year, as a teacher, performer and judging the 2016 Wadf Rueda de Casino World Championship. Bea Muriel & Miguel Angel Luna Jiménez (Spain / Denmark)

Bea and Miguel are two young talented and charismatic dancers both from Spain but living in Denmark!  There they are spreading their passion for dancing with their school La Luna Latina, teaching Salsa, Bachata and Rueda regularly, as well as in some events and festivals. Their classes always have a unique and amazing atmosphere using their special sense of humor from the warm south. Make sure you catch on of their workshops with their half Spanish, half Scandinavian touch.

Arlene Martinez (Cuba)

Arlene Martínez  was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, but is now settled down in Málaga. She is a wonderful dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.She has not only studied the various popular cuban dances, but also a wide range of international folk dances, like Claqué andTango, and even ballet, theatre, audiovisual effects and cultural management.

Before settling down in Spain, she was part of several tours with dance performances in Cuba, Spain, Haiti and France. Her last success was creating  a marvelous theatre dance show called De Cuba Soy, a travel of music and dance through the essential rhythms from the island of Cuba.

Do not miss the opportunity to learn from this talented, young dancer!

Enrique Solla (Spain)

Enrique has 20 years of experience as a dance instructor, teaching along with  his all time-partner Meli Rodríguez de Guzmán, Salsa, bachata, lindy hop, tango, kizomba …. He is also a writer and game designer, and creator of the competition system “Rueda Almazenada”, a competition system beetwenn ruedas de casino in which you can experience the passion of the sport, with only a few simple movements. It is not an artistic competition; someone who dances quite basic technically, or with less flavour, can defeat someone who dances with much style. A match between two rueda teams will have all the components of the current sport: training, improvisation, strategy, attack, defense and a lot of fun.Because it’s also dance, it’s music and it’s partying!
During the SalsaNor Rueda Congress there will be a possibility for everyone who is curious about this, to learn the Rueda Almazenada!

Lucia La Guarachera (Cuba)

Lucia is another professional dance teacher from Cuba, living in Malaga since 2003.  Her artistic career already counts 25 years and numerous clases of salsa, afro and rumba. She teaches regularly at Swing Dance School, and from her teaching new teachers have been born.
In Cuba she has studied professional dance at Conjunto Nacional de Danza Contemporánea, the Conjunto Folclórico Nacional de Cuba  and the Instituto Superior de Instructores de Arte. Lucia will also use her long experience judging at the Wadf Rueda de Casino World Championship during the event!

Jorge "El Chévere" (Cuba)

Jorge “El Chévere” (Cuba)
Jorge was born in Guantánamo, now living in Malaga, where he is currently part of the dance group “Producciones Raíces”. He also works with the dance school “Sazón Cubano” in the city of Jaén.
Former member of the Malaga Salsa Team Escuela de baile, and in Cuba he danced in the comparsa in Alamar, La Habana.
He has a vast experience as a professional dancer and teacher, and one of his specialities is the cuban rumba. Jorge shows great love for his cultural roots and desire to share his culture with you.

Eric Yhosvani Bell Quesada (Cuba)

Eric Yhosvani Bell Quesada (Cuba)
Professional cuban dancer and choreographer graduated in Cuba, both in afro, modern dance and the so-called cuban popular dances. He has lived in Spain the last couple of decades.
After having retired from the life as a dancer in dance companies, he had dedicated his profesional life to teaching and doing animations at hotels and events in Spain. He has also taken part in the formation of several dance students to become great dance teachers in Spain; so Eric is a true “teacher of teachers” in the different cuban dance styles.

Ubaldo el Moro (Cuba)

Ubaldo el Moro (Cuba) is a brilliant street dancer from Havana. He lives in France now, but used to be in the SalsaNor dance team for their trips to Cuba. He has also worked with SalsaNor at weekend events in Norway. This is his first Rueda Congress, and we are happy to introduce him to our Rueda crowd!!

Glesiner Pérez (Cuba/Norway)

Glesniel, a real street dancer! – is returning to SalsaNor Rueda Congress for the second time.

Born in Havana, passionate about dance since he was a little boy, picking up the new moves from the suburbs of Havana. Turning 20, he entered his first Rueda de Casino competition, and his rueda group was performing in the FClan video «Yo vengo de Cuba». Before moving to Bergen, Norway a few years ago, he had been teaching at La Casa del Son, la Casa de Marisuri and was dancing in the well-known 1830-dance team. Today Glesniel is running his own dance school in Bergen, Cuba-Norge Dans, together with dancing partner Karina. They are also hosting their biannual local “mini” festival: Bailando. Glesniel is a great, energetic instructor and always in the front line of animation in the parties!
